Why a separate suite

Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 are great editors with bad defaults. Dazr Suite is the same editor surface with sane defaults.

EU jurisdiction, EU servers

Built and hosted in the EU. The online apps run from a European edge. There is no US cloud underneath, so the Schrems II conversation just doesn't apply.

Real .docx, .xlsx, .pptx

Genuine ECMA-376 / ISO/IEC 29500 file I/O. Documents round-trip to Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Apple iWork, LibreOffice, and Collabora without conversion bugs eating your formatting.

No AI training on your work

Zero AI features. Your documents never leave your device. There is nothing in our terms about using your content to train models, because we don't have any models.

No account required

No sign-in screen. No "magic link to your email". Open the app, open a file, start working. The browser version stores drafts in your own IndexedDB; the desktop version stores them in your user folder.

Free, no per-seat licensing

No subscription, no team tier, no per-user fee, no "free for personal use only" footnote. Free for individuals, teams, and organisations.

Works offline on desktop

The desktop apps don't need the internet at all. The web apps load once and edit offline thereafter via the service worker, with downloads triggered as normal browser downloads.

What works in the browser vs. on desktop

An honest list. The web port keeps almost everything, but a few desktop-only conveniences don't translate.

Frequently asked questions

Are my documents stored on Dazr servers?

No. Both the online and desktop versions keep your documents on your own device. The online apps use your browser's IndexedDB for drafts and exports go straight to your downloads folder. Nothing is uploaded to Dazr unless you explicitly send it.

Are .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files real or just imitations?

Real. Dazr Suite reads and writes the genuine Office Open XML formats standardised as ECMA-376 / ISO/IEC 29500. Files you save here open cleanly in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Apple iWork, LibreOffice, and Collabora.

Is anything used to train AI models?

No. Dazr Suite has no AI features and no telemetry. Your documents never leave your device, so there is nothing to train on. We will never add training on your content as a condition of using the apps.

What's the difference between online and download?

Online: nothing to install, works in any modern browser, drafts persist in your browser's storage. Download: same features plus OS file association (double-click a .docx to open it in Dazr), custom window chrome, and works offline from the first launch. Both are free.

What does it cost?

Free for any use. No per-seat licence, no subscription, no paid tier. We're a small EU team funded outside of data extraction.

Can I run Dazr Suite on my own infrastructure?

Yes. The web build is a static SPA per app and the desktop binaries are signed Electron apps. We're working toward making the source available for self-hosting; contact us if you need a private build today.
